what a long rough day for all of us.
MikeyD left CHOP today it was bittersweet leaving chop and heading for the Children's Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick. it took a while for them to get him ready for the journey they put him on the stretcher and wired him up for all the portable monitoring equipment then they made us nervous when they put a portable defibrillator at his feet on the stretcher I was going to ask them why are you doing that when he has one built in I was wondering if it was because they never got to test the one he has built in. A lot of nurses and doctors came in to say good bye to MikeyD and let them know they will all miss him smiling at them he made a lot of friends there and so did Moya and I what a great group of caring and compassionate people. Moya rode in the ambulance with MikeyD and I followed right behind after the long ride we got to the hospital and met the doctors nurses and therapist so they could do their evaluations. MikeyD had two PT's and one OT at the same time checking him out the three girls were amazed with MikeyD's sense of humor even though he cannot speak he was smiling and nodding yes and no to them one of them said to him your trouble aren't you he smiled and noded yes that was it they were all over him after that. I have a feeling MikeyD is going to settle into his new home just fine.
Please say a prayer tonight for one of MikeyD biggest supporters Peggy Dunne we pray that your ankle will heal real soon. If you need anything Julia and Ciara will be glad to help you.

Just reading about MikeyD's smile makes ME smile!! Yes, we are praying every day (really ALL the time) that Mighty Mike will continue to feel better and get his strength back. Keep fighting MikeyD!! We have faith and we know with the unwavering support of your family and friends and The Good Lord, you will continue to get your health back!! It sounds like you are making friends where ever you go, but that was always the case!!

So glad everything went well for Mikey yesterday. This is just another step in his recovery process and we know he can do it. He's come so far already & so many people are praying for him. It seems no matter where we go, people are wearing their Mighty Mike bracelets.
