Sunday Night

MikeyD had a busy morning on Saturday with therapy then he had a great day with visits from great friends and cousins throughout the day, It worked out really well the way it got spaced out.

Some came early and some came later and stayed with him until the night time. he really does love the company the Dr, at CHOP was correct the best thing right now for him is Familiarity. you could see it in his face how happy he was to see everyone and the smiles on his face along with a few belly laughs. Sometimes now when he is really laughing you hear a little noise which is great. The Sullivan’s came early and started the ball rolling then Sean Butler and his dad Tom came and you could see the grin from ear to ear after that his cousins who he had just been playing with in Ireland a few weeks ago came in and it was awesome to see how good he felt to see everyone. Then on Sunday he had more great visits from great friends first Will showed up from NYC with his mom and  dad then Alborz and his Mom dad and sister came along with his Uncle Seamus Aunt Lauren and cousin Seamus all together and even though he had a very rough Saturday night he was a trooper and put on a smile for everyone. The days are great the nights are so long and tough on him. Saturday night right before his cousins left he started to get sick to his stomach again . MikeyD and I had a long rough night he never really slept after that. After he was done with the stomach pain while we were trying to go to sleep it was about two in the morning I was laying in the cot next to his bed with my eyes closed and half a sleep I heard a noise and tried to ignore it but it kept coming I opened my eyes and looked over at MikeyD’s bed where he was laying and he was  looking over at me and the noise was him snapping his fingers to get my attention I jumped up and stood over him and started to do our sign language to see what is wrong or what he needs is it pain are you hungry it turns out he was really thirsty I held the cup and the straw for him and he drank the whole glass of water through the straw. He did that 5 more times throughout  the night until finally he and I both  fell asleep about six in the morning around 7:30 in the morning  I heard him snapping his fingers again and we  were both up for the rest of the day. Although not a word was spoken a whole lot of communication was going on. I wonder how hard he is laughing deep down knowing that all he has to do is snap his fingers? Please keep the company going I really believe it is the best thing for his healing process I feel bad that some days are better than others if you were with him on Saturday he was in much better shape than if you were with him on Sunday but I believe the company on both days really helped him and he enjoyed it.

Please God let little MikeyD speak to us again one day.
