MikeyD had a full day today between PT OT and Speech Therapy.
he had Speech therapy come to see him three times today,
he remains on the bolus feed for his only nutrition due to the fact that he cannot keep anything down although he did start to eat for a few days he has a lot of problems with digestion and has not been able to keep anything down.
He has now been weaned off the morphine as of last night maybe that will help his stomach even though he is off the morphine he is still on a lot of medication we were happy that the morphine is gone but they added two more medications because of the TBI he is getting bad muscle spasms so they have started him on something for that and since he has not been sleeping they put him on a sleeping medication all of this medicine is put right in his stomach through the feeding tube. We really hope that these two new medicines will not affect his ability to hold food down and that maybe the morphine was the problem. Julia and Ciara came to visit their little brother tonight and he was sleeping we had to wake him up so they could have a little visit with him he did not mind although he was tired he was happy to see his sisters. it is hard to believe with all the pain and suffering without being able to eat and laying there with a big swollen scar on his chest if you ask him to smile for someone he finds it deep inside to just do it he is really fighting the fight every day.
We really are praying that he will be able to eat and keep it down soon and then start speaking.

ReplyDeleteMikeyD - What a great kid you are ... smiling through the pain. You are doing amazing things and we pray that your stomach will let you have some food today. The body heals a lot during sleep, so it's great to read that you're getting some sleep. Keep fighting and being a good patient and know that there are thousands and thousands of people who are praying for you!!

Yes, thank you for keeping us up to date on Mikey through the blog. It is our only way to communicate with him. No more morphine that's great! Keep smiling Mikey soon it will turn to laughter. We know you're in there, it's just a matter of time before you break out....you can do it MIGHTY MIKE!!! We checked out your new place on line. Looks like a great place to rehab....hope you have your bathing suit! Love and prayers to all of you...

Lord we come before You tonight and we ask that MikeyD have a restful healing night. Hold him close to You Lord. Let MikeyD be comfortable. Let MikeyD feel the love and prayers we are all sending him. Please Jesus touch every cell in Mikeys body and Heal our beautiful MikeyD. Heal his stomach and let him be able to eat soon..and let him speak Lord..let Mikey use his words..let him say I love you Mom and I love you Dad..I know he is going to tell us all how YOU were with him this whole time..Lord we want to hear MikeyDs voice..You are our HOPE and we are praying and where there are 2 or more praying together You are there and You said if 2 or more ask for something You will answer them and here we are Lord..and we believe You are the Healer so Please Lord Heal!!
