Day 10 - Night time

First off, we would like to thank everyone who put together and supported the 3 Point shootout  for MikeyD tonight. We heard it was an amazing event and it was put together so quickly, the AWG group is really spectacular and it was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us. We wish we could have been there for the event. Today has been a roller coaster of emotions. MikeyD is having a lot of discomfort coming off all the narcotic medication and it is really painful to watch for the whole family.
thank you all again for everything,
please keep praying for MikeyD he really needs all the prayers he can get right now.
keep posting you have no idea what that means to all of us.

    1. I know this will be hard to believe please read the post from Peggy Dunne from September 16th at 8:29 PM Peggy prayed that little MikeyD would give mom and dad a hug. This morning at 8:59 Maire Julia and Ciara were at breakfast I was sitting by his bedside holding both his hands and whispering in his hear even though he cannot use his hands or arms and he cannot speak I seen him begin to lift his head and shoulder to come to me I helped him up by holding both arms he sat up and lunged forward into my chest and he gave me a big hug.I had not read the Post before that I just read it now. I have 2 doctors and a nurse that were by his bed that witnessed the whole thing.
Dear Peggy Dunne please keep doing what you are doing God is listening to you !!!

  6. MikeyD-you have come so far we are all so proud of you! Keep healing and getting better. You are blessed with a wonderful family! We had a great time last night and Sean missed all of his shots! He does have a broken arm from football and was shooting with one arm but that's no excuse! I have holy water on my desk that I got in Knock and everytime I look at it, I say a pray that our mother Mary will help you heal completely. Stay strong I know this is very hard for you but you will get better!

  7. Mike and Moya,
I thank you for posting daily updates...ALL of us are very concerned for MikeyD and the rest of the Doherty family. Please know that ALL of Middletown is praying harder than they ever had before for a determination as to what happened and an action plan onto a speedy recovery. If you need ANYTHING please let us know and please keep up the Faith and Hope...I know that we get frustrated with God at times and question events...but never question him..I will never know the reasons for how things are, but please keep believing...He has never let me down before. MikeyD will get past this becuase he is a proud member of the Fightn' Irish! :) and he has already proven to be the TOUGHEST that I know!! Stay Strong. The Povall's

  8. Dear Mikey, I went to the 3 Point Shootout last night and I want to tell you what an amazing act of kindness it was. There were dozens of people there shooting hoops in your honor. At one point, the coaches huddled everybody up and asked everyone to put a hand on someone else's shoulder as we said prayers for you, our family and the doctors and nurses caring for you. I was moved by whole event. In addition to the Shootout, people have been praying for you (even people you don't know), visiting you, making meals for our family and doing a hundered other things to demonstrate their love for you. It is obvious to me that you have made a difference in your 12 years. I guess God must have plans for you to continue to inspire people and make a difference. Keep fighting little man and know that every moment there is someone praying for you.
    Love, Aunt Lynn
