Mighty MikeyD the Middletown Miracle continues to fight the good
fight every day to win the battle!
MikeyD has been helping me coach Ciara's St.Catherine’s
Basketball team. I told him he could call all the plays at the last game he
stood on the side and said Dad I have to call time out they are not boxing out
to get the rebounds. He called time out and asked the girls do you know how to
box out ? He then started showing them and explained to them that you need to box
out. He then said Dad I do not want to call another time out now but in the
next half I am going to have them play zone instead of man to man I am going to
put them in a one, three, one zone. He even started to sound like Mugsy.
(Mugsy was his coach for a few years) During the game I could tell it was
really stimulating him he started talking faster and clearer for that one hour.
it was almost as if he never had a TBI. On the way home he started talking slow
like before the game. I am hoping that we can get him more involved in helping
out in coaching basketball it really may help him in his recovery. he
really loved playing basketball. Mighty MikeyD also received a great package
from the Harlem Globtrotters Basketball team. It had a basketball signed
by the whole team, wrist bands, cups and a team calendar. I am not sure who had
it sent to him but thank you very much you should of seen his smile. MikeyD
loves to see people that he knew before that tragic night you can tell by his
face like when Chris Price and his mom Regina came to see MikeyD at Ciara’s basketball
game that night. When he shook Chris’s hand and he hugged Regina you just see this glow it
is hard to explain but his eyes lit up and it makes him really happy. He does
not say much but you can tell. You have to see the glow for yourself. If you
can come see MikeyD please do anytime you can it is very much appreciated. We
will be having an AWG (Attitude with Gratitude)get together tomorrow at The Hills House , 20 Garryford Drive

We will be honoring are fallen heroes and having a game of capture the flag.
We may even get a
wiffle ball game going on the side.

Praise God!!! Thanks Be to God!! Our Awesome God who heals and transforms!! Most Precious Blood of Jesus..flow through every one of MikeyDs veins and give Mikey a spiritual transfusion..bring him total healing..May Mikey feel Your Love healing him and transforming him to total restoration of body mind and spirit .Please Most Precious Blood of Jesus be MikeyDs strength and restore him to Perfect Health.....MikeyD is coming back more and more and with stimulation and lots of love and care and prayer MikeyD will be completely healed..It is so great to REJOICE with you and Thank Our Lord..and to ask the Holy Spirit to continue to guide all the caregivers so that MikeyD will receive the best of care..

Im so happy that MikeyD is enjoying helping the girls play basketball..I hope he continues to be the Assistant Coach as you can see, this is helping Mikey...

That is AMAZING to read! Wow, Mighty MikeyD is still fighting and still making those connections and those are prayers answered!! It sounds like those stories I read about that NY Doctor who would sing Happy Birthday to TBI patients and they would have a sort of 'awakening'. Will he be Coach Mighty or Coach Miracle in Sneakers? Just kidding ... he's a Coach Mike just like his old man! We continue to pray and send love to your entire family. I wish we had been in town for the game today ... I thank you for the prayers at the previous game!! May God Bless MikeyD on this Memorial Day and always!

ReplyDeleteWe are so glad that Mikey is doing so well! I week or so ago we were coming home down East Rd. Mike and Mary see both of you walking. So Mike make a u turn and they can't find you. It was almost like you disappeared into thin air. Then Mary thought she saw you just going into a house. :-)

ReplyDeleteMighty Mikey D a true miracle, When he's stimulated you cannot even tell his speech is slow. Let him get excited about something and he speaks perfectly. When he's calm his speech is a little slow, I personally believe in time Mikey D will be back to himself 100%. He continues to be in our prayers, My shock was on Friday afternoon I received a text from Mighty Mikey D wanting to know what time we were going to the moves. Shock he's texting now another giant leap.
