Sunday Night

Twenty Three of us celebrated Easter Sunday with Mighty MikeyD it was really nice. We all went out to dinner. We celebrated the Resurrection which means new life. MikeyD was given a new life one that we are very grateful for but it is a much different life than he had before one that everyone in my family is  adjusting to especially Julia and Ciara.
We know they are going through a lot and not getting any credit for it. I know one thing for sure Mighty MikeyD could not have two better sisters they take care of him like you would not believe. It is really hard on everyone in our family my mother, my father, my brothers  my sister  Moya’s mother her brothers , and sisters, and all his cousins  to adjust to this new life. I am sure it hardest on Julia and Ciara to see their little bother as he is now compared to how he was before. He doesn't know what day it is he cannot read or write he is confused and does not even know what he had for lunch. You can no longer talk to him like you could before this he looks a little bit like he use to look but he is very different. Moya’s Birthday is in April today he said mom I never knew your Birthday was in April it is sad. Both MikeyD and his new Puppy have so much to learn, you can tell that he is starting to miss the things he  was able to do before like playing baseball in the spring, hopefully one day he will be able to play baseball again. Along with Julia and Ciara being so good to him he is lucky to have a few great friends that still come to see him. I can only tell you one thing I see the best improvement when he is with Julia, Ciara and these few great friends.  Ciara will be making her confirmation this Tuesday and normally it would of been a big occasion in our family. I feel like it has been over looked for her because of all we have been through with MikeyD . I only hope that Ciara knows we are all so happy for her and look forward to seeing her make her confirmation. We are so proud of her and the way she takes care of her little brother with her sister  Julia.  Ciara also picked her sister Julia to be her sponsor for her confirmation. We will celebrate Ciara’s confirmation on Tuesday. Above is a picture of Kiona when she was taking care of MikeyD she hurt her ankle and was wearing a boot and MikeyD had two boots. Mighty MikeyD continues to dig in deep and fight his daily struggles everyday with his I can do it Spirit.
Right now he needs all the support he can get from friends and family.
We believe in Miracles.
Please keep praying and posting for MikeyD.

Mike, I continue to pray for MikeyD and keep his name in our parish prayer book. Your daughters are wonderful girls. God bless Julia and Ciara and your entire family, and continue to grant strength and willpower to MikeyD and the family. Congratulations to Ciara. Have a wonderful Confirmation celebration. Sheila

You & your family never gave up hope!We all watched as MikeyD broke all the odds. He continues to do that every day, It took him 11 plus years to become that star basketball player! You have to be willing to give him at least 11 months! As a child we learned everything in stages. We have taken that part away from MikeyD. We want is all and we want now and we want it fast. Don't be sad that he didn't know Moya's birthday. Celebrate that fact he just learned something new.Remember that 10 years from now when you have to call him at 9PM at night because his Mom has been waiting for that birthday phone call! :-)
Ciara is a beautiful intelligent girl and I am sure that she is just happy to have her family with her on Tuesday. Something that just months ago no one knew if that would be possible. You can celebrate it anytime and in anyway. With everything your family has been through sometimes quiet family time is a bigger celebration & the best gift!
    Congratulations Ciara!
    Love & prayers

That's a lovely post Mike. I'm glad you guys had a special Easter together as a family. I have been so impressed with Ciara since we came back. I can't believe how mature she is. She is so in tune with Mikey's needs. But I am sure it is very hard on both girls and it's a lot to ask them to take on board.
The main thing is, Mikey is here and every day is an opportunity for him to relearn the small things. I know it will come back. He is young and the pieces are just getting ready to fall into place. All of this is a foundation and it will all come good.
Everyday I see Mikey walking around is a miracle. It's something I didn't expect to see. To hear him talking, and see him smile. Each little move he makes, every thought he tells you - it's all a miracle. I'm not overlooking the pain you guys feel for what was lost.. but statistically you have a miracle living in your house and I'm so happy for that.
Stay strong. We hope that Ciara has a fabulous day tomorrow - Summer is even showing up for it. If we don't see ye tomorrow we will see ye at the weekend hopefully. Love always, Mike, Pauline, Michael and Ethan xoxo

  5. Yes, I got to hear from Moya how Julia and Ciara were extremely mature and supportive within the first 48 hours of that tragic September 7th. You have 3 amazing children!!
Ciara-Congratulations and my GOD BLESS YOU today and always!!
I pray for and visualize MikeyD's complete and full recovery EVERY DAY! I missed him at Saturday's Little League parade/opening day. I thank God for the miracle that he is, with all his struggles and his daily challenges ... he remains a sweet kid with a positive attitude. I am just so glad that we are not putting pictures and flowers at a memorial. He is FIGHTING!! He is a FIGHTER!!
I will send you an email. Robert asked me about visiting MikeyD ... I got busy and dropped the ball (no pun intended).
LOVE and PRAYERS and POSITIVE ENERGY to you and yours!

    Jeremiah 30:17

"For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, saith the Lord."

    Jeremiah 33:6

"Behold, I will bring you health and cure, and I will cure you, and will reveal unto you the abundance of peace and truth."

    Matthew 18:19

"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on Earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

GOD SAID IT... I BELIEVE IT...

    Romans 5:2-5
"Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

SOOOOO MUCH LOVE IS SEEN IN YOUR FAMILY!!!

    Romans 8:24-25
"For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."

    Romans 12:12
"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
